KINDERGARTEN
For school-aged children at The Olive Branch Community School, we take a blended approach of child-led exploration and teacher instruction. In this program, our students develop the skills and confidence to master core subjects as outlined by the CA State Board of Education.
Children begin their elementary school journey with a foundation of leadership. Our kindergarteners spend much of their day in a mixed-age environment with our preschool class, easing the transition from Preschool to Lower Elementary. The remainder of the day is spent in our kindergarten space, engaging in focused exploration with our kindergarten teacher.
At The Olive Branch, all learning is child-driven and individualized. As the school year progresses, teachers and families work together to continually assess each child's progress along their individualized learning plans.
Transition to our Lower Elementary class is determined on a readiness basis. Teachers and families work as a team to determine the right time for each child to experience the next environment in their personal educational journey.
